Frequently
asked questions
What is biological age?
Biological age, also known as physiological or functional age, refers to the age of an individual’s body and systems and is based on evidence gathered via a blood test. A person’s biological age is influenced by factors such as genetics, lifestyle, diet, exercise, stress levels, and environmental factors and may differ from their chronological age.
What is the difference between biological age and chronological age?
Biological age reflects how old a person’s body appears to be based on various biological and physiological factors whereas chronological age is simply the number of years that a person has been alive.
What do we base our biological age test on?
There are various methods to estimate biological age, including assessments of physical fitness, biomarkers (like blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and DNA patterns), and overall health. Our advanced test analyses chronic inflammation on a molecular level to provide a more precise estimate. Chronic inflammation leads to tissue damage and increases the risk of many diseases, thus speeding up the process of ageing. With the right guidance and adjustments in lifestyle, chronic inflammation can be hugely decreased, thus reducing the risk of disease, meaning we can live longer, healthier lives.
How is the testing done?
Our testing kits provide everything you need to get started. We only require a small amount of blood which is collected via a quick and easy finger prick test. Just squeeze a few drops of blood onto the piece of card, pop a plaster on and that’s it!
How long do the test results take?
The results of our Bio Age test are returned within 3-4 weeks.
Could I purchase the test and results without the coaching?

Does Bio Age UK diagnose illnesses?
We do not carry out diagnostic testing. Our tests do not serve as a disease predictor or risk score, rather, it gives information on the similarities of your profile with observed profiles in various diseases.
What if my test results give me bad medical news?
Our test does not diagnose illnesses but displays certain health indicators. Should your blood test results indicate similarities in the profiles observed in specific diseases, we would always advise that you to seek medical advice via your GP.
